Steam Next Fest Demo
The Always With You Steam Next Fest limited demo explained — exact event window of June 9–16 2025, what was upgraded, and how it differs from the normal demo.
Обновлено:
The Steam Next Fest demo was a limited-time, upgraded version of the Always With You: Meow & Mystery demo that ran during Steam's June 2025 Next Fest event. If you see older videos or articles talking about a "Next Fest build", this is the version they mean.
Event window
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Event | Steam Next Fest (Steam 新品節) |
| Start | June 9, 2025, 9:00 |
| End | June 16, 2025, 18:00 |
| Source | Official announcement video + Steam news post |
Both dates come directly from the team's official Next Fest announcement on YouTube and the matching Steam news posts published June 9–10, 2025.
What was different about the Next Fest build
The developer promoted this build as a limited edition with a fully upgraded experience (體驗全面升級, as the announcement put it). The exact changelog was not published, so the precise list of improvements is to be confirmed — the safest reading is that it was a polished version of the chapter 1-1 demo rather than extra chapters.
Can you still play the Next Fest demo?
No — the limited window closed on June 16, 2025. However, the standard demo remained free on Steam and received its own update on August 5, 2025 (adding the Adventure Log and Stone Collection). In practice you are not missing the game, only the event framing:
- Download the current demo from Steam.
- Follow the demo updates page to see what has changed since June.
- Check the official Discord or this wiki's updates feed before the next fest — indie teams often re-enter these events.
Why Next Fest mattered for the game
Steam Next Fest is one of the biggest discovery events for upcoming indie games. For a first title from a small Taiwanese team like SnowyOwl, the June 2025 window was its largest visibility spike so far, and it is the reason much of the early YouTube coverage of the game dates from June 2025.
