Mia (米亞) is the protagonist of Always With You: Meow & Mystery — the "clever and courageous young girl" whose search for her missing mother drives the entire journey. While the cats get the memes, Mia is the heart of the story and half of every puzzle.
Who is Mia?
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Name | Mia (米亞) |
| Role | Playable protagonist |
| Goal | Finding her missing mother |
| Companions | Caramel, Snow, and Kinoko |
| Source | Steam page + developer interview with Bahamut GNN |
The official Steam page introduces her as "a clever and courageous young girl embarking on a journey to find her mother". The developer's launch interview adds the setting: she travels through a mysterious forest, solving puzzles and facing shadow creatures, with three magical cats at her side.
Mia in the puzzles
Mia is fully switchable with her cats, and many rooms are built around her specific abilities as the human of the group:
- Hands and leverage — pushing stones and operating mechanisms is natural for her.
- The default explorer — when a room has no obvious cat-route, start with Mia.
- The story key — NPCs, story scenes, and the world of Alto react to her, not the cats.
Mia vs the cats
There is no "better" character — the demo's puzzles alternate between roles. The habit that makes the game click: whenever Mia hits a wall, ask which of her three cats fits through it.
Mia's story so far
The demo covers only the opening chapter, so her full story is unwritten. What is confirmed: her mother is missing, the journey leads through the ancient civilization of Alto, and guardian bosses stand in the way of the truth. Details like why her mother disappeared are to be confirmed when the full game releases in 2026.
